Treating soft tissues
The benefits of massage have been known and used for thousands of years. Whether healing from an injury, training for competitive athletics, or anything in between, different massage techniques can help. Registered Massage Therapy uses hands-on manipulation to treat soft tissues (muscles, tendons, connective tissue, and ligaments) and joints to try to optimize health.
There are several different styles of massage therapy available including Swedish massage, joint mobilization, craniosacral therapy, lymphatic drainage, strain-counter-strain, muscle energy technique, visceral manipulation and more. Due to this diversity it can be used for physiological goals including rehabilitation and musculoskeletal pain reduction, or on a psychological level for stress relief.
In Ontario, regulations for Registered Massage Therapists (RMT’s) are some of the highest in the world. RMT’s have studied anatomy, physiology, pathology, assessments, and more, and are regulated heath care professionals who are ready to help you find an appropriate and customized treatment plan.
We encourage you to view each therapist’s professional biography to see which one would be best for you. For more information please contact the clinic and we will gladly answer any questions you may have about the benefits of Massage Therapy for you or a loved one.
